(the outing)

spidernet made of polyester ropes

ø 1,20 m, 2 m

two spider webs were stretched between the tops of two trees by the "artists on an outing 2" (initiated by area 53).

the spider webs were public space interventions that put an aesthetic object in nature under the magnifying glass, thereby reinterpreting it, while also playing with the metaphors and fears surrounding the theme of the spider. the fact that the spider is missing is an important element of this work. through its absence, its "product", or that which it leaves behind, takes on its own kind of beauty: it no longer instills fear, however, at the same time, it also loses its meaning and purpose.
